Coach Granata was North High School’s first wrestler to earn NCAA All-American honors when he placed 5th for Hunter College in 1998. Coach Granata was a Rockland County and Divisional Champion and upon graduation was #1 in career wins and #1 in career pins for North.
Coach Roden was a 2X All-American for Springfield College when he placed 4th and 2nd in the Division II NCAA Championships. John was also a 3X Academic All-American during his time there. In highschool, Coach Roden took 5th place in the NYS championships for Section VIII.
Coach Cifuni has a long history with the RAMS wrestling program. A former letter winner and the recipient of the RAM MVP Award his senior year as voted on by his teammates, Coach Cifuni had dedicated countless hours to not only mentoring the high school team but also volunteering with our youth program as well. Even though he is now currently enrolled at SUNY New Paltz where he has tekane up playing rugby, Coach Cifuni still has found time to come back on some weekends to continue his volunteer coaching with the RAMS.
Coach Ramos was the most accomplished wrestler in North history where he took 3rd place at the 2009 NYS Championships at 152 lbs., was a 3X state qualifier, 2X Section champion, 3X Division and 3X Rockland County champion, and still holds career records for most wins, most pins, and most matches ever wrestled by a RAM. After high school, coach Ramos wrestled for Division I powerhouse North Carolina State and is now competing in mixed martial arts where 2 years ago he won the World Team Trials in No-Gi at 77 kg and placed 5th in the World Championships held in Baku, Azerbaijan. This past spring, Ramos won BOTH the 77 kg No-Gi and Gi titles and will be competing at the World Championships in Budapest.
